Grade/Focus: Art

How long have you been at Cleveland Elementary? This is my first year at Cleveland School

What do you love most about teaching? What I love most about teaching are my students. I love teaching them Art and seeing them come alive. Seeing students who say “they aren’t good in art,” surprised by beautiful masterpieces they make with their own two hands, brings me such joy. I cherish the interactions with my students and learn so much from them.

What is your favorite thing about Cleveland Elementary? My favorite things about Cleveland School are the students and faculty.

If you weren’t a teacher, what other profession would you enjoy? I would love to be a photographer of National Geographic, a Travel magazine, or travel blog/website.

Do you have any pets? I have a pet dog, she is a six year old Shiba Inu named Tori.

What is your most favorite place you have visited? Why? My most favorite place that I have visited is Budapest, Hungary. It’s my favorite not only because it is an old beautiful city, with a rich history, but because I lived there for six week in the summer of 2017. My daughter, Lauren, was one of two Americans asked to play water polo with one of Hungary’s premiere club teams. My other daughter, Ashley, and I went and stayed with the two girls that summer and lived like locals – it was a blast!

If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be? If I had a superpower it would be teleportation. I would love to snap my fingers and be in Hawaii.

How many laps did you run in the last Red Bird Hustle? How many do you think you will run in the next one? I did not do any laps this year. My goal is to do at least 1 next year.
