How long have you been at Cleveland Elementary? 2nd year at Cleveland; 13th year teaching

What do you love most about teaching? I love witnessing a student experience that “lightbulb” moment when they realize they know more than they thought they knew and are capable of achieving goals higher than they may have originally set for themselves.

What is your favorite thing about Cleveland Elementary? Even before joining last year, I was told Cleveland is a family and that is the truth! Ms. Ward and Mr. Staszczak set a supportive and inclusive tone for our community, and the staff carry this out in our mission. Hopefully, our students and families feel this sense of community, too.

If you weren’t a teacher, what other profession would you enjoy? If I wasn’t in education and had any sort of athletic ability, I think it would be interesting to work in the sports industry somehow — either that or a 00 agent in MI6!

Do you have any pets? Unfortunately no, but my cousins and friends do, so I can vicariously enjoy through them!

What is your most favorite place you have visited? Why? Ever since my Dad recovered from cancer surgery, we have tried to travel somewhere every summer and check off a different MLB stadium at each city we visit. (It’s part of my “bucket list” now.) I am grateful for any opportunity to experience and learn about a new place with family and friends!

If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be? Being multi-linguistic!

How many laps did you run in the last Red Bird Hustle? How many do you think you will run in the next one? Last year, I contributed to the Red Bird Hustle by cheering on all our runners and making sure students were hydrated. Go Cardinals! 🙂
